About Sofie

Sofie Berg (they/she) is a queer New York based actor, writer, and theatre maker. They are a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Acting.

Born in Sydney, Australia and raised in Denver, Sofie’s family roots lives in global movement, leading them to a knack for questioning things. Her evolving artistry hinges on giving the gift of curiosities. By creating work that sends the mind into motion, they hope to foster an environment where people can be brave enough to ask questions. Questions lead to understanding, understanding to empathy, and the world is in need of a heavy dose of empathy. Sofie’s work as a yoga practitioner and teacher has driven her to explore the intersection of somatic healing with artistry and theatre. They believe our bodies are the great truth-tellers, and is invested in art making that brings us closer to a synergetic relationship with ourselves.

In their downtime, Sofie loves playing outside and climbing rocks (albeit most of the time is the colorful plastic ones at her gym in the city), as well as being an avid reader and playlist maker. Their current media obsessions include poet Ocean Vuong, the band Big Thief, the mobile phone game Gardenscapes, and being a longtime fan of Survivor on CBS. If ever in need of her favor, I suggest bribery via sweet treats.

Thanks for being here! Let’s work together.
